- I purchased a 33.6 US robotics modem, and here is my experience with
- their tech support.
-
- 10 letters to the email adress, all I get is 10 automated responses.
-
- One calll to the tech support number, 30 min wait, then its answered
- by some guy that can barely speak english(so now we know who uses all
- the cheap immigrant labor), and all the guy did was waste 3 hours of
- my time, and screwed my login script up for my winsock program. I had
- to get a backup copy recopy it onto my hard drive.
-
- The dumb a** also told me to set my winsock connetions on SLIP, and I
- told him Im on a ppp system, ect, ect, ect, anything you can think of to
- screw something up, he did it.
-
- Finally he said "I think I should have wrote down your original
- settings before we started deleting stuff"
-
- I have a new 33.6 sportster for sale if anyone wants this piece of
- sh*t. The main problem I have with it is connecting to Practical
- Peripheral modems. I want to buy the supra with the digital read out,
- and the US Robotics courior, just so I can call their 800 number for
- tech support and waste their money for a change. Trust me, I'll take
- all this out on their 800 customer support number one day! haha
-
- Here is US ROBOTICS SALES NUMBER, 1-800-DIAL-USR, call them if you
- can't get thru to their email, or if you just want to ask them
- questions about any modem problem.
